Feel Your Lemons: Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Returns
As we step into October, we’re excited to announce the return of our Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, #FeelYourLemons – a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign that advocates for self-care, breast health, greater body awareness (beyond the breast) and the power of embodiment in our health and well-being. Supporting breast cancer awareness is more than just a cause for us— a reflection of our core values and our belief that together, we can truly transform the current narrative of healthcare, from reactive to preventative.
Our body is designed to heal. Through education, connection, and commitment to self-care, we learn to unlock our bodies’ natural healing potential. This year, we’re introducing the #feelyourlemons Clay Play Kit. This kit is designed to encourage mindful and reflective practices through the art of free-form sculpture. By engaging in a tactile, creative process, we tap into the power of touch as a healing tool. The clay, like our bodies, responds to care, attention, and intention. Sculpting with your hands allows you to connect with your inner world, fostering a sense of awareness and self-expression that complements the physical act of self-examination.
Nurturing Touch
Touch plays a fundamental role in our understanding of ourselves as human beings. When we experience touch in a safe and nourishing way, it grounds us in the present moment, enhancing our awareness of our own bodily sensations. This connection to our inner experiences is not only essential for emotional and psychological well-being but also has profound implications for our physical health.
Research has shown that appropriate touch from birth onwards can significantly boost physical resilience, health, intelligence, and creativity.* This underscores the importance of being attuned to our bodies and the sensations we experience.
Self-palpation, or the regular practice of touching oneself, is an opportunity to engage with the direct experience of one’s living body. Whether directed towards ourselves or others, let’s practice compassionate, loving touch in the spirit of self-care and healing.
