Founder’s Letter: Embracing Seasons of Change

Posted on 0 comment

After three incredible years, we’re taking the next step in our journey—and I’m so thrilled to share it with you. For those of you who have been following along, you would know that Soma Haus, in short is a labour of love – a desire to transform the industry, redefine wellness, and ultimately expand our own consciousness.

The birth of Soma Haus was indeed a bittersweet one. Just two days before we opened our doors in 2022, we lost a dear friend and our co-founder – Rohit Nanwani. The joy of creation was completely eclipsed by unbearable grief, the kind that leaves you hollow and in a perpetual search for answers. Those closest often hear me say that there is a roh-shaped hole in my heart that nobody or Soma Haus will ever fill – a constant reminder of how much I loved/ love him, and how blessed I am that he entrusted me with this journey.

In the first year of Soma Haus, I can’t tell you how many nights I’d wake up startled and thinking to myself, “Did i make a mistake?”. My mind was filled with so many doubts, fears and questions. It was a perpetual feeling of walking in shoes that didn’t fit me. And I would lying if I said the reality wasn’t a rollercoaster; it took me close to 2 years to feel remotely capable, to feel in charge and to finally walk with confidence.

For those of you who have been a part of everything we’ve accomplished – thank you. Whether it was a class, a community gather, a treatment or an ice bath, know that you’ve been a huge part of our success. At the heart of our work is the belief that this healing generation can fundamentally shift the design of society and I do feel we’ve done a great job collectively. I know we’ve still got more to go.

As we continue to evolve, our commitment to uphold the highest ethical standards of care in the wellness industry eventually led us to a timely restructure – a complete separation of our clinical arm (physio/ counselling/ cranio) and classes / workshops from the existing suite of services (ice baths & sauna etc) that we were offering at 108/110 Joo Chiat Road.

As part of this restructure, we are partnering with REKOOP, Singapore’s premier private wellness club to enhance our service offerings. This decision was made with the utmost consideration to preserving Roh’s legacy, elevating our service offerings and more importantly, ensuring continuity in the therapeutic work of healing chronic stress, pain and disease. As of 1 April 2025, the 108 Joo Chiat Rd space will come under the ownership of the REKOOP Group and renamed to 108 Joo Chiat.

For all treatments, classes and workshops, we will be moving to a new location 281 Joo Chiat Road (Level 3, walk up) from 7th April 2025 onwards. We’re so excited to welcome you into this season of change. On behalf of my entire team, thank you for being an integral part of our community. Here’s to the bittersweet grief of endings and beginnings. Soma Haus is and always will be a manifestation of a desire to change the narrative of healthcare, and help people realise just how resilient, intelligent and magical our bodies are. So if you’re on this path of healing, no matter how messy or confusing, you’re a sign that humanity can move in a better direction. I just know it.

Here’s to us and this journey we call life.

All my love,

Kathy Gabriel
