Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) immerses individuals in high oxygen levels, increasing the blood’s oxygen-carrying capability. Oxygen levels and pressure in the Chamber/Cocoon is 40%-50% higher than sea level. In high-pressured oxygenated environments, oxygen delivery is 7 times more effective, targeting areas that were previously oxygen-deprived. When our tissues are flushed with high levels of oxygen and we can enjoy benefits such as:
- Higher Energy Levels
- Increased Metabolism
- Reverse Aging
- Helping with Insomnia
- Enhance cellular health
- Sports Recovery
- Post Surgery rehab / wound healing
HBOT Need At Least 1.4 ATA To Be Effective
Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society guidelines state that the pressure used in a clinical setting must be at least 1.4 ATA for it to be effective. This is as stated in the 14th Edition 2019-Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Indications.
Based on research, Niza et al. found that using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at 1.4 ATA increases blood flow in small blood vessels in peripheral tissues by activating the parasympathetic nervous system due to the high oxygen levels. At Soma Haus, HBOT Cocoons® by O2genes do not go below 1.4 ATA.

Benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
1. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Sleep
According to studies conducted by neuroscientists, it is said that when an individual is exposed to high levels of oxygen, it encourages their brain to remain in deep, restorative slow-wave sleep. Deep sleep helps our brains and bodies with recovery as well as memory consolidation.
On the other hand, when we are exposed to less oxygen, our brains remain in rapid-eye movement (REM) sleep. HBOT is used to enhance deep sleep to ensure that individuals who suffer from insomnia can get enough restorative and slow-wave sleep.
Slow-wave sleep is essential for health since the body requires this deep sleep stage to feel adequately rested. While sleeping, a person’s blood oxygen levels might drop because of decreased breathing. If oxygen intake becomes inadequate, it can have a detrimental effect on slow-wave sleep. With HBOT, it enables the blood to be saturated with oxygen and for complete diffusion of oxygen into the blood plasma.

2. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Longevity
HBOT can cause a wide range of cellular, biochemical and physiological changes. HBOT may also promote healthy aging.
- HBOT enhances angiogenesis
- HBOT reduces inflammation by regulating the number and activity of extensive inflammatory cell types.
- HBOT enhances antioxidant defences by modulating the balance between free radicals and scavengers.
- HBOT interferes with the detrimental effects of cellular senescence. HBOT also plays a role in inhibiting telomere shortening, one of the major stimuli of cellular senescence.
- HBOT increases the number of circulating stem cells by stimulating stem cell mobilization, and changes stem cell properties by promoting proliferation and differentiation.
Telomere length is a marker of biological ageing. Our body contains telomeres, a region of repetitive DNA sequences at the end of a chromosome. Each time a cell divides, the telomeres become slightly shorter. When the telomeres become too short, the cell will die as it is no longer be able to divide successfully.
HBOT can help with reverse ageing because it can lengthen up to 38% of our telomeres at a rate far beyond any currently available intervention of lifestyle modification.
3. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Cancer Support
Cells become cancerous when they are deprived of oxygen (hypoxic). Oxygenated cells are stronger and generate more energy. In an oxygenated environment, cancerous cells are weaker, and our bodies can produce more energy, enhancing overall strength.
If we undergo Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) before radiation therapy, we can strengthen ourselves and weaken the targeted cells. This can alleviate fatigue and weakness. Increased oxygen transport around the body helps cells generate more energy, making the body stronger and boosting immunity. Moreover, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can also improve our sleep quality.
Enhanced oxygenation in the body increases the amount of oxygen in the blood and plasma. This higher oxygen content improves blood flow and allows oxygen and nutrients to reach areas that were previously deprived. The increased oxygen helps dilate blood vessels, promoting better circulation, which facilitates the delivery of essential nutrients to tissues and organs that need them most. This process supports tissue repair, energy production, and overall cellular function.
Do take note: Soma Haus does not position itself as a medical service. We are a wellness provider. Please do check with your medical provider before proceeding with HBOT

4. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Cognitive Performance & Autism
A case series show that low pressure HBOT improves symptoms in children on the spectrum through increased oxygenation of underperfused areas of the autistic brain, reduced neuroinflammation, decreased oxidative stress, or a combination of these.
HBOT at the pressures commonly used in children with autism (up to 1.5 atm/100% oxygen) has been reported to improve cerebral perfusion, decrease markers of inflammation and did not worsen oxidative stress markers. Most studies of HBOT in children with autism reported improvements in several behavioural domains.
Collectively, the reviewed studies indicate that the use of HBOT in children on the spectrum, including autism, is associated with minimal adverse events and is well tolerated. HBOT is a safe and potentially an effective therapy for children with autism while further studies are warranted.
Moreover, research studies have proven that HBOT decreases the old cells in our bodies by 11-37% which effectively promotes regeneration of new cells! Hence, HBOT is known for reverse aging.
